Community, Collaboration & Connection: IDD Block Party Brings Eugene Together

On June 29, community partners from across Lane County came together to host a fun-filled IDD Block Party in downtown Eugene…and what an incredible afternoon it was!

From the moment guests arrived, the parking lot at Full Access was filled with laughter, music, conversation, and smiling faces. People of all abilities, their families, support professionals, and community members gathered to celebrate friendship, inclusion, and the power of working together.

This year’s Block Party was truly a collaborative effort, bringing together several dedicated organizations committed to supporting our local IDD community, including:

  • Connections NW
  • Empowered Services
  • Full Access
  • IMPACT of Oregon
  • New Horizons In-Home Care
  • Premier Community Supports
  • RISE Services

Together, these organizations created an afternoon packed with activities for all ages and abilities.

Guests enjoyed singing along during karaoke, testing their skills with a variety of games, trying their luck fishing for prizes, getting creative at the craft station, choosing colorful temporary tattoos, and filling the air with hundreds of floating bubbles. There were also plenty of delicious treats to enjoy, including fresh popcorn and refreshing root beer floats, giving everyone another reason to gather, visit, and celebrate together.

More than anything, the event was about connection.

Throughout the afternoon, friends reconnected, new friendships were formed, and providers had the opportunity to spend time with the individuals and families they serve in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Events like these remind us that when organizations collaborate, we create something much bigger than any one agency could accomplish alone—we build stronger communities where everyone belongs.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to every organization, staff member, volunteer, and attendee who helped make this year’s Block Party such a wonderful success. Your enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment to creating inclusive opportunities continue to make a meaningful difference throughout Lane County.

We are already looking forward to seeing everyone again at future IDD community events!

Laughter, music, games, and friendship filled the air as people of all abilities, families, support professionals, and community partners came together for the 2026 IDD Block Party in Eugene. Thank you to everyone who helped make this collaborative event such a wonderful success!
