Cornerstone Associates is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through person-centered, community-based programs that promote independence, creativity, and meaningful connection.
Our day support services are built around the belief that every person deserves a life filled with choice, purpose, and opportunity. Rather than a one-size-fits-all model, Cornerstone offers a variety of programs that meet people where they are, honoring individual interests, strengths, and goals. Associates are active participants in shaping their days, whether that means creating art, growing food, learning life skills, building friendships, or exploring new interests in the community.
Cornerstone’s programs emphasize inclusion, skill development, and real-world engagement. Through initiatives such as Living Studios, Color Wheel Gardens, and innovative offerings like Growth Through Gaming, participants develop practical skills, self-confidence, and social connections in supportive environments designed for growth. These programs foster creativity, wellness, collaboration, and self-expression while encouraging autonomy and personal agency.
Employment Path and Vocational Training programs at Cornerstone Associates support individuals who are interested in building work-related skills and exploring meaningful employment opportunities. These programs focus on developing soft skills such as communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving, alongside hands-on vocational experiences tailored to each person’s interests and abilities. Associates receive individualized support to explore career paths, practice job-related tasks, and build confidence in real-world settings. Through community partnerships, volunteer opportunities, and structured skill-building activities, Cornerstone helps participants take steps toward greater independence, economic participation, and long-term vocational goals at their own pace.
At the heart of Cornerstone Associates is a commitment to dignity and respect. Our staff work alongside associates as mentors and collaborators, creating spaces that are neurodiversity-affirming, welcoming, and empowering. We actively partner with local organizations, artists, educators, and community members to expand opportunities and ensure associates are connected to the broader community around them.
By focusing on relationships, strengths, and possibilities, Cornerstone Associates helps individuals build fulfilling lives while strengthening the communities we serve.
