DESCRIPTION:Welcoming 2026: A New Year of Connection and Growth!\nJanuary 13th\, 2025 Meeting:   \nLocation: Lane County Developmental Disabilities \n2513 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd\, Eugene\, OR 97401  \nThe Eugene Science Center & Direction Services \nJanuary 2026 IDD Networking Meeting Presenters \n       \nWe’re excited to welcome two meaningful presenters to our January IDD Connect meeting: the Eugene Science Center and Direction Service.\n\nThe Eugene Science Center will share about their Sensory Sensitive Evenings\, special events designed for neuro-diverse adults and children who benefit from a quieter\, less sensory-stimulating environment. These evenings create a more accessible science center experience through sensory-friendly planetarium shows\, hands-on activities\, service animal access\, and supportive resources such as noise-reduction headphones\, sunglasses\, sensory kits\, and floor cushions. The Eugene Science Center is currently seeking community partners and sponsors to help keep these events free and financially accessible for all guests.\n\nWe’ll also hear from Direction Service\, a multi-program family support nonprofit serving Lane County. Founded in 1976\, Direction Service was built on a heartfelt commitment to treating individuals with disabilities and special needs with respect\, dignity\, and compassionate care. They will be sharing information about sponsorship opportunities for their 2026 Annual Golf Tournament\, which supports their ongoing programs and services.\n\n \n\nJoin us to be part of the learning\, brainstorming\, connection\, and solution-building that help strengthen our IDD community.\n\nWe look forward to starting the year together with collaboration and purpose.
